Discussing the price of mass transportation tickets - Ibb Governorate branch [18/May/2021]

A meeting was held today that included the Director General of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs - Ibb Governorate Dr. Ahmed Mayas, directors and representatives of international transport companies in the governorate
Where the prices of tickets for mass transportation of passengers were discussed and the increase in them during the current period by some transport companies that blackmail citizens
Whereas, Mayas stressed that providing service to the citizen is the origin of any investment, especially in the transport sector, and the door to competition is open to provide the service and not to raise prices
He praised the transport companies committed to the previous pricing, describing them as companies interested in providing service and taking into account the suffering of Yemen and Yemenis as a result of the aggression, which had its negative effects on all aspects of life, including transport through the long distance and the rise of oil derivatives, in addition to natural disasters, the latest of which was the Covid-19 epidemic, which imposed Distancing even in mass transit buses, which are currently less than half the number they were carrying in the past. Despite this, these companies are steadfast and fixed in ticket prices.
Stressing that companies that are not committed to the previous price will bear legal responsibility in this regard
As well as transport companies with commission that exceed the specified percentage of tickets and trade in them
Calling all citizens to inform the authority’s branch of any branch of any company that cuts a bond instead of a ticket
It is worth noting that this step comes under the directives of the head of the authority, Mr. Walid Al-Wadai, for all branches of the authority in the governorates for the public interest.
